Of our 38 avatars, the most popular is the ghost. How fitting, since we believe anonymity grants authenticity (grants the freedom to be a vampire, an angel, or even a croissant). The dragon in spot 4 inspired two additional dragons you can unlock by reaching Level 3 on Pagebound. We know the incentive to become a bowl of rice at Level 4 is motivating you to read and post more to earn those points…

Book forums are where our community gathers. We continue to see that our Readalong picks have a big influence on what people choose to read. Blood Over Bright Haven, The Spellshop, and Don’t Let the Forest In are part of our Fall Readalong (you have until the end of November to participate and earn the badge, including a sparkly one for reading all 5 picks).

An emoji is worth a thousand words. These are the most popular ones used to describe Lists: themed book collections curated by users for the community. Think of Lists like an OG Spotify playlist—the more niche and creative, the better. Some personal favorites are “Un-be-leaf-able—planty fiction,” “Disembodied Voice Inside a Woman’s Head,” “I Can Fix Him, No Really I Can,” and “be gay do crime.”

Finally, the question we all ask ourselves—is everyone’s TBR this overwhelming? The average Pagebound user has 239 books in their TBR. Where do you fall in the chart above? If you’re more towards the bottom, we just introduced a new reading status called “Interested.” Think of it as a way to make your Library more manageable, separating out books you want to bookmark into “Interested” and books you’re more committed to reading into “TBR.” Is it a super niche feature for avid readers? Yes, that’s kind of our whole thing 🙃
